Top 30 accountancy firm with a personal, partner-led service aimed at entrepreneurial small, medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporates and high-net worth individuals are looking for a Royalties Auditor to join their busy but friendly team.
Their clients come from many different backgrounds and are active in all branches of commerce and industry.
The practice comprises of over 30 partners and approximately 320 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, business recovery and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.
The role will require carrying out a portfolio of licensing audits within the forensic accounting department of a Top 25 firm.
The role involves visiting the offices of companies that licence the right to use well-known character images on their products, and working in conjunction with their accounting and other records to verify that royalties have been paid to the owners of the character images in accordance with the licence agreements. It is expected that travelling to and from the audits will be done at weekends for which overtime will be paid. As a guide, the job could involve spending two weeks out on audit followed by two to three weeks in the office.
No previous experience of licensing audits is required, as training will be provided. However, some experience of auditing is required (such as statutory company audits, compliance audits, tax or fraud investigations).
The candidate should ideally be fluent in German.
Many of the audits will be carried out alone, so the candidate must be confident to travel and meet new people in unfamiliar territories/countries. The candidate must be able to think on his/her feet and adapt to new situations.
The candidate must be self-motivated and well organised, as much work will be carried out unsupervised, and there will be numerous live audits at a time - therefore they will be good at multi-tasking.
