My client is a Famous European manufacturing company, now are looking for Plant Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Fosters the role of controlling as a business partner for entire organization by carrying out relevant profitability analyses and cost reviews to constantly improve the business results.
  • Implements and educates the Joint Venture organizations with the Consolidated Business Steering concept; prepare and share consolidated margin data/analysis at customer/product level and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Leads the data collection, update and reporting for the strategies in both countries. Acts as strategic controller and interface for data related to the JVs in Greater China.
  • Coordinates the commercial strategy with the business teams based on the knowledge of key business drivers based on a deep understanding of the economic situation and market drivers.
  • Proactively reviews the cost allocation of direct/indirect cost, local and sub region/region cost and challenge/change misallocations. Pro-actively approach the local platform teams to obtain information about cost deviations to ensure reliable cost data.
  • Ensures proper inventory management (incl. slow moving/expired stock) in close coordination with the Supply Chain Management managers in the JVs as well as the Regional Business Unit.
  • Drives active inventory control and follows up with Supply Chain Management and sales team.
  • Capital Expenditure
  • Set up and track the CAPEX spending on a monthly basis broken down by projects. Ensure accuracy of the reported data or the local reporting system.
  • Proactively challenges and monitors new asset acquisitions, asset transfer and asset disposal.
  • Prepare economic evaluation for all projects above 100 kEUR and share with regional for alignment.
  • Be the single point of contact for project registration in SAP to ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Structuring commission agreements, customer deals and managing commercial policies:
  • Works together with/guides the commercial team in the JVs to develop/set up new agent/customer contracts and customer incentive plans (e.g. rebate schemes).
  • Coaches the controlling teams in the JVs with regards to the financial implications of contractual terms/condition to enhance value from new commission schemes/products/contracts.
  • Ensures that all business model changes are cleared
  • Ensures that price compliance and price approval processes are adhered to and improved/updated if requires in order to fully adhere to audit/compliance recommendations.
  • Business case preparation
  • Acts as JV controlling counterpart for business case updates and development
  • Leads restructuring/M&A/business improvement related projects of the JVs from a controlling perspective and provides proactive input to activities ensuring the timely implementation of the approved projects.
  • Training support of BW systems:
  • Trains/supports the team to use the reporting tools, provides the business/controlling acumen and develops staff competency.
  • Coordinates training for SAP/BW reports.
  • Contract Management
  • Acts as contact point to legal department to facilitate the contract development/set up if needed.
  • Ensures that important points related to business and customers are covered in the contract.
  • Ensures complete collection/storage of all signed contracts and input in database.
  • Management of Service Level Agreement Procedure
  • Ensures total compliance to guidelines including respective documentation.
  • Corporate Governance
  • Ensures overall compliance with corporate policies and objectives (e.g. contract management).
  • Follows up on internal/external audit reports and ensures timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Interface management
  • Acts as interface to platforms, legal, tax, procurement, central units.
  • Builds a controlling community in the construction chemicals JV in Greater China and connects with/be part of the Greater China Controlling team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Accounting/Business or ACCA, ideally master's degree.
  • Working Experience: Min 10 years in controlling/finance function; JV experience is an advantage.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Business Controlling skills are a must.
  • Team player and able to work in virtual teams
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Can-do/positive attitude, target oriented and highly self-motivated.
